Salvation Army Kettle fund receives Rotary boost

Drumheller Rotary President Doug Stanford, Rotary Campaign Manager for the Christmas Kettle program Helen Peers and Rotary member Bob Friesen, challenged everybody  to donate to the Christmas Kettle program on Friday,  December 18.
The  Rotary  then matched the donations and presented a $2,500 cheque to Salvation Army Captain Jennifer Hillier and Community Ministries Director Shane Hillier.   Walmart Corporate then matches  the donations collected  Saturday December 19,  to the Christmas Kettle up to $100,000 across Canada.
Captain Jennifer Hillier said “We were a little bit behind, compared to last year and with this donation from the Rotary and the Walmart match, it will give us a real boost.  The community here in Drumheller  has been so generous.  The number  of people that have  donated cash, donated goods, taken the time to distribute Christmas hampers, and volunteers for the Christmas Kettles.   It takes a lot of people to pull this all together.  I can’t begin to name everyone, we are so grateful for everyone who has participated and supported us this season.”rotary donatges
