The Drumheller Dragons have made a trade with the Calgary Canucks.
The Dragons have acquired 18-year-old Chaydan Lauber.
Lauber started his AJHL career with the Olds Grizzlys where he played 46 games in the 2013-2014 season, scoring one goal and one assist, and 12 in the 2014-2015 season, with three assists, before being traded to the Canucks. With the Canucks he played 34 games, scored two goals and had 7 assists for a total of nine points.
Lauber is a defenseman and will bring size to the team. He is 6’4 and 215 lbs and with two years of experience and three more years to go, assistant coach Gavin Holcomb said he will be able to help out the team in many ways.
“Chayden is a guy that can really help us and to get a guy like that unfortunately you have to give up guys that are tough to give up,” he said.
In exchange for Lauber, the Dragons traded 19-year-old forward Reid Nemeth and 20-year-old defenseman Brody Valette, both to the Canucks.
