St. Anthony's grade 6 students excel at divisional track meet

 

Grade 6 athletes at St. Anthony’s School finished the school year excelling at track and field.

 

The Grade 6 Track and Field event was held in Okotoks on June 25 for all Christ the Redeemer schools.  In all, eight schools participated.  Grade 6 students participated in a variety of events including: Track Events – 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m as well as Field Events – Ball Throw, High Jump, Long Jump and Standing Broad Jump.

 St. Anthony’s students won ribbons in the following events:

60m – Derek Carriere won a 7th place ribbon, 100m – Bailey Calderon won an 8th place ribbon, 400m – Kayla Finkbiner won a 4th place ribbon, 800m – Kayla Finkbiner won a 3rd place ribbon. Ball Throw – Derek Carriere won an 8th place ribbon, High Jump – Payton Zacharuk won a 1st place ribbon, Sydney MacDonald and Kayla Finkbiner won 2nd place ribbons, Long Jump – Carmanah Olbrich won a 7th place ribbon, Standing Broad Jump – Mokie Neale won a 4th place ribbon, Brigo Castillo won a 5th place ribbon and Tyler Cardamone won an 8th place ribbon.

 All students enjoyed their day at the track meet and look forward to track events in the future as they make the leap from elementary school to junior high.
