Girls Dynos wrap up league play

The DVSS Senior girls Basketball team wrapped up its league play Monday night as they hosted Three Hills.
While it wasn’t the high the team was looking for to wrap up the season, they worked hard, according to coach Ryan Hatch.
The team found themselves down but rallied in the fourth quarter and finished with a respectable 57-43 loss.
“It is amazing they have improved so much,” said Hatch. “The fourth quarter was an example of how much they improved their capabilities this year.”
Bailey Faubion had a team high of  11 points in the loss.
The team finished in fourth place in the league.
The season is not over for the team. This weekend they are heading to Rocky Mountain House for tournament play. While they are on the road, they will meet some familiar faces as they face Acme in the first game of the eight team tournament.
The team has a shot at zones. Hatch says the Dynos have to play a qualifier to get into the tournament to move on. They will have some steep competition however. Because the DVSS team has players from both DVSS at St. Anthony’s, they are playing at the 3A level. This means bigger schools and bigger competition.
Zones are on March 9 and 10 in Olds.
