BEETON
Janina (Jenny) Antonina

March 2, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Janina (Jenny) Antonina Beeton announce her passing on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the age of 83. Jenny was a talented pianist who lit up the room when she played. To hear her, you’d think it was her greatest passion, but it wasn’t. Family holds that spot. Her children being so close to each other through life was such a point of pride and gave her great happiness. ‘Just promise me that when I’m dead and gone, you kids stay close.’ Jenny happily wore many hats over her lifetime; bank cashier, drug store clerk, automotive counter clerk, piano teacher, service member, but the happiest roles were sister, auntie, friend and most importantly loving wife and mother. Jenny loved to have fun and appreciated every opportunity whether over a card game with friends, a dinner out, or putting on a big spread herself. She cooked a mean pot roast and she loved to bake. We celebrate the grand reunion she must be having right now with her beloved Berkley who passed in October 2005 and whom she missed terribly. Jenny is lovingly survived by son Ralph (Dianne), daughter Jackie (Dave), son Roger (Leah), six grandchildren Ward (Amanda), Ryan (Cheryl), Andrea (Lindsay), Mark (Megan), Chelsea (Kristian) & Kaitlynn (Greg), six great-grandchildren (Braedon, Jordyn, Jesalyn, Taylor, Gemma & baby Berkley), sister Anne (Chuck) and niece Nancy (Keith). Jenny touched the lives of many and leaves behind a large group of family and friends who mourn her passing. Memorial services were held Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Knox United Church, Three Hills, AB. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sunsetltd.ca

Geraldine Loretta Rowbottom of Drumheller, AB beloved wife of Tom Rowbottom passed away peacefully on March 22, 2018 at the age of 94 at the Drumheller Health Centre. Gerry was born November 12, 1923 in Empress, Alberta and moved to Drumheller with her parents. As a child she was an avid bowler, baseball and hockey player and would say that teams would pay her $ 5.00 to come play with them. Gerry was very proud to say she served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1943-1946 with her sister Madge. Gerry was known for always hosting family and friends, food and drink was aplenty. The evening would end with the famous costume parade. Her love for animals was, Disney’s version of Snow White, faithfully feeding the blue jays, deer and squirrels. G-G cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. You would see her cheering them on in sporting events, playing with playdoh or drawing and coloring with them or out in the yard playing ball. Her love for life, taught us to enjoy it fully no matter what age you are. Geraldine Loretta Rowbottom is survived by her daughter Jackie (Bill) McTavish of Drumheller, grandchildren Les (Kim) McTavish, great grandchildren Shaye, Brennan & Teya of Lethbridge, Brad (Ashley) McTavish, great grandchildren Lachlann & Henley of Edson, brother Bill Sparrow, numerous nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of many friends. Gerry was predeceased by her loving husband Tom, her parents Frank & Corinne Sparrow, son Terry Maki, brother Pat Sparrow, sisters Francis Duffin, and Madge Contenti. Funeral Mass for Gerry was held Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church. If friends so desire
memorial donations may be made to Royal Canadian Legion #22 or the Drumheller & District Senior’s Foundation Sunshine Lodge. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes is in care of the arrangements.
