In 1981, Brian and Kathy moved to the family farm where they built a life together along with their four children. Brian always had a passion for family, farming and flying. Nothing pleased him more than to work side by side with his family on the farm. In 2003. Brian fulfilled a life long dream of getting his pilot’s license. Shortly after, he purchased a Cessna 172 plane. Brian always enjoyed sharing his love for flying by taking family and friends along with him on his many flying adventures. Brian will be remembered for his sense of humor, curling with friends and his long conversations about farming. Brian is cherished and will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Kathy, his four children, Daniel, David (Christine), Brandin  (Stephanie), and Amanda, his parents, Dan and Muriel MacDermid, his two sisters Diane Blanchett  (Curt), and Linda Samoleski. I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now
I’m free.
I’m following the path God had laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard His call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found the peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joys,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
O yes, these things I too
will miss.
Be not burdened with times
of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of  tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
 Don’t lengthen it now with
undue grief.
Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee.
God wanted me now; He set
me free
