- July 21, 2009

Passed away peacefully at Drumheller Health Centre on July 21, 2009. George was born July 26, 1928 at Mors, Denmark. At the age of fourteen, he started his apprenticeship for carpentry and spent the next few years becoming a journeyman carpenter. He also spent time in the Danish Army. In 1950, George came over to join his cousin, Paul Jensen, in the Drumheller area and we are truly blessed that he joined our family. He worked for Alfred Holmen until the late ‘70’s and then he worked on his own until he retired. George was know for his old school carpentry skills and was such a perfectionist. He would not let a project go unless it was absolutely perfect. Everyone marvelled at his ability to turn small scraps of wood into beautiful and useful creations. After he retired, he continued to work in his shop and was able to do what he loved until his passing. George was predeceased by his father Jakob, mother Johanne, brothers Johan, Jens, Bernhard, Frede, twin brother Ejnar and sister Inger. He is survived by his sister Inger and family of Norway and sister-in-law Kirsten and family in Denmark. He is also survived by his Canadian family, Shirley Amundson and family of Munson and John Jensen and family of Hussar. The service was held July 27, 2009 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Dalum.    30p
