It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Tillitson. At the age of 82 years, Jerry passed away at the Kelowna General Hospital in Kelowna, BC. All who knew Jerry will miss him. He is survivedy by his sister, who lives in Alberta, his three step daughters, Linda, Cory and Jennifer, grandchildren Caralee, Kenny, Michelle, John and Angela, and his many great-grandchildren.
Jerry came from a farming background. His parents migrated from the Dakota’s to homestead in Delia, Alberta, where Jerry was born. As a young man Jerry joined the Canadian Army as a mechanic, spending his days repairing all kinds of equipment, returning to the farm after.
Later in life he sold his land and moved to Westbank, BC where he bought a home that overlooked Okanagan Lake. He went to work in the fruit orchards and enjoyed his hobbies of gardening, woodworking and fishing.
In the summer, he also enjoyed having the grandchildren come to enjoy the lake and to go boating. Jerry’s wish was to be cremated and have his ashes spread around the family’s old homestead, to be near what he loved the most.
Rest in peace, Jerry.
