November 8, 1936 - April 22, 2024

Jack Elkes of Drumheller passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on April 22. He is survived by his son Marty (Cheryl) of Drumheller, daughter Jill (Kevin) Verstrepen of Airdrie and loving grandchildren Shelby (Brandon) Elkes, Brinley Elkes, Ashley (Matt) Rowland, Stacie (Evan) Pettis and Corey Verstrepen. Four great-grandchildren, Aiden and Jaxson Rowland and Abbie and Ashton Pettis.
Jack was predeceased by his wife Patricia (Winslow) in October 2023. Also his parents, Fred and Florence, sisters Vera Dick, Edna Anderson and brother Fred. As a young man, Jack started out his working life in the Coal Mines of Newcastle and then briefly in the Oilfield Industry before joining Canadian Utilities on July 4, 1957 and retiring from Alberta Power on April 2, 1992. He was a long time member of The Royal Canadian Legion and had served on the executive board numerous times. Jack’s passion was golfing and he spent many days on the course of The Dinosaur Trail Golf and Country Club where he was a member. At Jack’s request, no funeral service will be held.
A private family Interment will be held at a later date at the Drumheller Cemetery.
