Dunbar, beloved husband of Eleanor, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2017 at the age of 86. Dunbar was born in Hanna, Alberta to William and Alice Clyne on February 19, 1931. He spent his early years farming around the Hanna, Drumheller area, and later worked for the Correctional Services Dept. in Drumheller and Winnipeg, retiring in 1991. Dunbar spent his retirement years with Eleanor, travelling, golfing and enjoying family and friends and winters in Arizona. He was also an avid woodworker and a long-time volunteer Marshall with the City of Calgary golf courses. He is survived by his wife Eleanor, his four daughters, Dalinda Stark (Tony), Doreen Nasr, Drenda Johnson (Wes), Dawnette Schmidt (Ron); his grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sister Betty Faubian; brother Dewain Clyne; Eleanor’s children; extended family; as well as many dear friends. Dunbar was predeceased by his parents William and Alice Clyne; his infant son Darreld; sister Ellen; and brothers Hugh, Angus, William, and Billy. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to a charity of one’s choice. A Celebration of Dunbar’s life will be held at the Northmount Baptist Church (451 Northmount Drive NW), on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
