WESCOTT ,Delores Julia (Medley)

September 11, 1936 ~ January 26, 2017

Delores (Del) Wescott passed away on January 26, 2017 in Drumheller.  Del was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Del was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on September 11, 1936, she moved to Alberta in the early 1950’s. She married Haze Wescott on June 1, 1956 in Cardston, Alberta. Through the course of Haze’s career they lived in a number of communities in Alberta raising four wonderful children, Arlene, Wes (Carol), Ken and Jason (Stephanie). In retirement, Del and Haze travelled through the States with their motorhome. Del loved to camp on their acreage until their dream house was completed, and she was able to live there until her passing.  She enjoyed going to weekly bingo and working on puzzles (there was always a puzzle on the go).  The daily games of cards she played with Haze gave her the opportunity to brag when she was able to win. Del came from a large family with five siblings, Carol (Harvey) Vangilder, Roberta (Doug) Simpson, and Robert (Joanne) Medley. She was predeceased by Jim Medley and Don Medley. Del was a quiet, loving person who will be greatly missed by her family. There will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make memorial donations to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Alzheimers Society.  Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes were in care of the arrangements.
