MACY, JOHN ALBERT

February 25, 1929 – November 4, 2016

John was born in Drumheller, Alberta. He was married to the Late Mary Macy for 61 years, she passed in 2007. Dad worked at the Star Mine for 8 years, then the Whitehouse Hotel for 13 years, he owned and operated Macy’s Taxi, and after 22 years of service to Corrections Canada he retired. John just celebrated a 50 year reunion for Corrections Canada as being one of the first hired as an Officer. Dad spent the last four years at Brian and Linda’s acreage, he loved gardening, cutting grass, feeding all the animals and keeping supplies for the cherry jug for the gang! John was everyone’s SANTA all year round. He was the most caring and generous man to all he knew. John was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Doris Macyshyn, brother, Walter (Slugger) (Mary), Olga (Andy) Dropko, Bill (Kay) Janswick, and numerous nieces and nephews. John leaves to mourn his two daughters, Carol (Brian) Flinn, and Linda (Brian) Zacharuk, granddaughters, Mary (Randy) James, Marnie Zacharuk, Tina (Phil) Maleshaytis, great grandsons, Dustin and Ryan, great granddaughters, Amarah and Danaya. John requested no funeral services. If friend so desire memorial donations may be made to the Drumheller District Humane Society. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes were in care of the arrangements.
