She worked for many years catering and at Mount Royal  College in Food Services for 22 years until her retirement in 1988.  She married Joe in 1953 and they were married for 50 years until his passing.  Evelyn belonged to the Alliance Church and was a very active and dedicated member of that community.  Evelyn spent her last 3 years at Hillcrest Extended care.  She especially enjoyed her friendship with Gertrude Bliss. The family is so appreciative of the love and care that Evelyn received during her time at Hillcrest.  Evelyn was a  devoted wife, mother and sister as well as a longtime friend and neighbour to many.  She will be missed for her undying love and devotion.  She was well known and in demand in her family and community for her angel food cakes.  Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 - 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.  To express condolences, please visit: www.mountainviewmemorial.ca.
