SCOTT, Chad Robert

February 8, 1979 - August 24, 2015

Chad Robert Scott born February 8, 1979 to Bob and Janie Scott in Calgary, Alberta passed away suddenly on August 24, 2015. Chad grew up on the family farm near Michichi, Alberta and attended the Delia school until his graduation in 1997.  Growing up Chad enjoyed hockey, volleyball and almost all other sports.  Farming was a big part of his life and the farm had the usual assortment of pigs (not his favorite chore), cows, chickens and any other farm animal you could find. Chad loved any kind of animal and was also  a member of the Delia 4H Beef Club.  He then went on to attend SAIT and Red Deer College to obtain his journeyman welder’s certificate in 2000.   Chad  became an accomplished welder, owning and operating his own business Rough Stock Welding Inc. Chad married his loving wife Michelle in 2003.  In 2008, they were blessed with the birth of their beautiful twin baby girls, Kayla and Kelsey. In his younger years Chad aspired to live the life of a rodeo bareback rider but due to an injury he was forced to become a spectator rather than a participant.  His love of the sport did not die and he became an avid chuckwagon fan. The thing Chad loved the most was being a welder. He was meticulous about his work, his truck and his shop.  Even though the work was hard, cold and isolated he worked the far north for many years.  When the girls were born he did try to find work closer to home and worked for a period of time for Crew Energy Ltd. as an oilfield operator.  But the far north and the big pipelines drew Chad back and he went back to doing the thing he loved the most. Chad was also an avid hunter and regularly headed into the deep bush to find those prized antlers which he displayed proudly in his home. He enjoyed helping his Dad and his brother Cody with the farming when they needed his help. With the slow down in the oilpatch Chad had been home since the Spring and was able to spend some quality time with his cherished little girls fishing, catching bugs and taking many adventures. Chad is survived by his loving wife Michelle and their twin daughters Kayla and Kelsey.  His parents Bob and Janie Scott.  His brother Cody and his wife Joleen and their two boys Chance and Colby.  Michelle’s parents, Ed & Debbie Van De Ryse and brother in law Ed and neice Lisa.  He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and extended families.  He also leaves a large group of friends and work associates. A celebration of Chad’s life will be held Friday, September 4 at 2:00 pm in the Delia Community Hall with Rev. Katherine Freeman officiating.  The family requests that In lieu of flowers  Uncle Cody and Auntie Joleen have opened up a ‘Child’s Trust Account’, if you would like to make a donation please make cheques payable to Kayla and/or Kelsey Scott at Chinook Financial branches in Drumheller or Hanna, Alberta or send cheques to Mr. & Mrs. Cody Scott, PO Box 1371, Hanna, AB T0J 1P0 or the charity of one’s choice.  Courtney Winters Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
