SINCLAIR Gladys Marshall

SINCLAIR, Gladys Marshall
February 1, 1924 - February 4, 2014

Gladys Marshall Sinclair, beloved wife of the late John William Sinclair, passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, 3 days after her 90th birthday.  Mom was born in Delia, February 1, 1924.  Upon completing her schooling in Delia, she attended Olds College graduating in 1942.  Mom married our dad, John Sinclair on November 7, 1945 in Delia.  They farmed north of Delia for the next six years then moved to the family homestead, where they actively farmed for the next 50 years. Mom and Dad enjoyed many holidays, two of the favorites were a trip to Disneyland with all the family and grandchildren in 1987, and a trip to Scotland with Marilyn and Patti in 1993. Mom and Dad moved to the Highland Dell in Delia in 1994.  Upon dads passing in January 2000, mom remained active in Delia, enjoying her time at the Senior Centre and numerous visits with lifelong friends from the community.  Mom moved to Lethbridge in 2008 to be closer to her family (Patti) residing at Black Rock Manor, where she quickly adapted to her new surroundings and friends. Mom was especially pleased when Marilyn moved in 2010 to Lethbridge. Family visits were her biggest joy as family was very important to her, especially her seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.  She always took a keen interest in their lives, whether it was having tea parties with the girls or playing hockey with the boys. Mom leaves to mourn, son Ken (Mary) Sinclair of Calgary and their three children Scott (Cheri) Sinclair, Sean Sinclair, Kristi (Nezam)Fedda; daughter Marilyn Adam of Lethbridge, her children Tammy (Lance) Torgerson, Jody (Shaun) Klatchuk; daughter Patti (Dale) Finnerty of Lethbridge, their children Tricia (Shaun) Haney and Ryan (Heather) Finnerty.  Twelve great grandchildren, Kalem, Rylynn and Karsen Haney; Blake and Halle Torgerson; Lexi and Kali Klatchuk; Brayden and Shayla Sinclair; Emily Sinclair; Isaac and Mason Fedda, plus numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John, her parents Alex and Jean Dunbar, sister and brother-in-law Alice and Aubrey Hickling, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob and Isabel Sinclair. A private family graveside service will be held February 14, 2014 at 1:30 pm, with Rev. Leila Currie officiating. A public luncheon to follow at the Delia Community Hall at 2:00 pm. If friends so desire donations may be made to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation, 1 – 020 Li Ka Shing Centre for Health and Research, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB.
