Carol Ruth Peters of Drumheller, beloved wife of the late Jim Peters, passed away after a lengthy illness on August 24, 2013 at the age of 71 years. Carol was born December 24, 1941 to Henry and Selma Wieler in Rosthern, Saskatchewan. She was an active member of the Alliance Church and was involved in the choir. Singing was her passion. Carol was a foster parent for over 30 years. She is survived by her daughter JoAnne Schachtschneider (Harry), son Jason Peters, daughter Rose Harrison, along with grandchildren Kyle Jones and T.J. Jones, and brothers Hank (deceased)(Wanda) Wieler, Herb (Lil) Wieler, Van (Rose) Wieler and Menno (Marg) Wieler. A gathering for family and friends will be held between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Family Dining Room (beside the Chapel), located inside the Drumheller Health Centre, 351 - 9th Street NW, Drumheller. The urn will be buried in Saskatchewan at a later date. In honour of Carol’s memory, memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Society of Alberta, 1055 - 20 Avenue NW #202, Calgary, AB T2M 1E8.
