BERLANDO Roger “Perry”

BERLANDO, Roger “Perry”
January 9, 1959 - March 20, 2013

Roger “Perry” Berlando, 54, of Drumheller passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Perry was born on January 9, 1959, in Drumheller to Roger and Helen Berlando and grew up in the Drumheller Valley. He remained a resident of the Drumheller Valley for his entire life. He graduated from Drumheller Composite High School in 1976 and started his civil engineering career with Alberta Transportation.   In 1991 he worked for the M. D. Of Badlands, then joined Torchinsky Engineering in 1996 and worked there to date.   Torchinsky was changed to Agra and finally Amec Infrastructure. There he faithfully served his main client, Special Areas. In October of 1979 he married his life-long Sweet Heart Patricia Crist (Tish) and together they raised their three daughters, Ashley, Liana and Nicole. He will be sadly missed by his family whom he loved deeply. Perry was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Drumheller and Hussar Fish & Game Association as well as the Local Trap Club. Perry was an avid hobbyist who enjoyed camping and fishing with his friends and family as well as cruising on his Harley Davidson.  He always had a number of projects and interests surrounding him and had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge.   Perry was passionate about pursuing intellectual debates and gleaning new information from such pursuits. Perry was a perfectionist and if he took on something you could be assured it would be done right. Perry is survived by his loving wife Tish, parents Roger and Helen, daughters Ashley (Ross), Liana (Aaron) and Nicole as well as brothers Dwayne (Laura), Darrell (Laurie) and many loving nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and family. Courtney-Winters Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements (403 823 2666).
