It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Mom, MARIE JENSEN on July 30, 2012. Marie was a longtime resident and very active member of the Morrin Community. Whenever anyone needed help with anything she would always lend a hand. Whether, it was lunches at the hall, church or just making sandwiches for a function, Marie was always there ready to pitch right in. Marie was a teacher’s aide for kindergarten for a number of years and saw many of her little ones go on to graduate high school. After that she worked at the Morrin post office until it closed. She babysat and also worked at the Rockhound Motel in Drumheller for awhile as well was an Avon representative for over 20 years. Marie loved to play cards and was a member of the Canasta Club for over 50 years; she also liked to play crib and bingo at the Senior Center in Morrin. Marie loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There was nothing better than turkey dinners at Grandma’s house; especially with her homemade buns.
Marie is survived by her children Kathie (Mike) Bordyniuk, Melvin (Cheryl) Jensen, Cindy (Larry) Mabbot; siblings Darlene (Robert) Sinclair, LeRoy Avramenko, Allen (Fe Fe) Avramenko, Norley Avramenko, Carol (Nelson) Houghton; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her youngest son Howard in March of 1972, father Willie Avramenko in October of 1993 and her mother Frances Avramenko in March of 2005. We Love you and will always miss you Mom. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the MORRIN COMMUNITY HALL, with Jerry Beskowine, LWL, Officiating. Memorial donations may be made in Marie’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 1400-522 University Ave., Toronto, ON, M5G 2R5 or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, Room 124, Professional Building, 430-6 Ave S.E., Medicine Hat, AB, T1A 2S8.
