Rudolph (Ralph) Deimert, beloved husband of Irene, of Drumheller, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 9, 2012, at the age of 92 years at the Stettler Heritage House Continuing Care. He is survived by his wife Irene of Sunshine Lodge in Drumheller, son Elroy (Sheryl) Deimert of Grande Prairie, AB, daughters Harriet (Darryl) Raugust of Delia, AB, Donalda (John) Breitmeier of Albany, Oregon and Melody Deimert of Three Hills, AB. He has 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Louie (Ann) Deimert of Vulcan, AB, Ervin (Norma) Deimert of Regina, SK, and Eric (Lenore) Deimert of Airdrie, AB, and sisters Elma Buss of Medicine Hat, AB, Dena Hill of Regina, SK, Helanda Hartung of Vulcan, AB, Lorraine (Clarence) Volkman of New Sarepta, AB, Eileen (Malcolm) Mackinnon of Camrose, AB, and Doreen (Al) Widmer of Medicine Hat, AB as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Herman and Huldine Deimert, first wife Erna Gienger, his sisters Johanna (Emil) Buss and Mena (Steve) Bayerle, his brother Edmund Deimert and his brothers-in-law Arthur Buss and Ed Hartung. Memorial donations may be made to the Gideons or Drumheller Sunshine Lodge. Ralph was born on October 9, 1919 at home near Bergheim, SK. He grew up in Weyburn, SK and graduated from Weyburn High School. He also graduated from Winnipeg Bible College and received a Bachelor of Theology from Hillcrest Christian College. He served in the Evangelical Missionary Church as pastor of churches in B.C., Saskatchewan and Alberta for 43 years. He and Irene retired to Delia in 1987. They moved to the Sunshine Lodge in Drumheller in 2009. Then in 2012 Ralph moved to Heritage House in Stettler for the continuing care he needed. He was an active and loving father and grandfather and a concerned pastor who visited his parishioners frequently. In retirement he worked in his shop making things and decorating his yard. We will remember him as a man of God who honoured his call to the ministry with faithfulness and a servant heart. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Delia Christian Fellowship Church with Kevin Raugust and John Brestmeier officiating. Interment was at the Delia Cemetery.
