CAIRNS, Jim Daniel
August 18, 1940 – June 16, 2011

Jim (Tex) Cairns passed away peacefully with family around him on June 16, 2011. Tex was well known in the valley and never knew a stranger. In earlier years, he often would hitchhike to and from Rosedale and Drumheller. One of his favourite spots was in front of the old Palace Café. Tex was predeceased by his parents, Dan and Helen Cairns, his baby sister, Betty, his nephew, Jerry Kozak, his sister-in-law, Merva Cairns, and his niece, Terri Scharfl. Tex is survived by his son, Michael; his siblings, George & Sharon Cairns of Devon, Marge & Alf Scharfl of Drayton Valley, Linda Cairns & Mike Chiernyk of Westlock, Chris Cairns of Rosedale and Irv & Cindy Cairns of Rosedale; plus Auntie Beth Schow of Black Diamond and Auntie Myrtle Toliver of Rumsey; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins. The family extend their thanks to the excellent staff at the Drumheller Continuing Care for caring for Tex. There will be a private family service.
