Snowball fight at high noon

Chris Jaxcin Schellenberg

The cold, wet, icy gauntlet has been dropped. The place: Rotary Park. When: High noon Monday. Weapon of choice: Snowballs.

Jamie Worman of Drumheller Chrysler pondered publicly last Friday of the possibility of the community coming out for a good old-fashioned snowball fight. He soon found the interest was there.

“We want to try and get as many people as possible down to the Rotary Fountain MONDAY AT 12PM!! The more people we can get, the more fun this will all be!” he posted.

He hopes to invite as many as he can to come down for an hour of fun, but also sees it as an opportunity to do a little good. He asks that participants bring along with them a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Salvation Army Food Bank.

While residents have not seen much action since the 2013 flood to upgrade infrastructure and mitigation efforts, one project underway is at the Drumheller Health Centre. Heavy Equipment has been adding material along the Red Deer River to upgrade berms to protect the hospital.
