Women outdistance Men in Annual Battle of Sexes

Battle of the Sexes finished  at the Aquaplex and the women beat the men by 1587 lengths.  Final tally’s for lengths by the women were 11,657 and men achieved only 10,070.  According to Aquaplex lifeguard/instructor Molly Moar, “There were over 60 participants, with the women beating  the men by 39.7 kilometers.”  Participant Wendy Bilson, pictured above, accomplished 710 laps at  25 meters each,  totaling 17,750 meters  or just over 11 miles. Bilson was also last years winner.  The Battle of the Sexes continues at the Badlands Community Facility till the end  of the month. 


Family Day Fun

On Monday , February 15, many families celebrated Family Day at the Aquaplex.   Admittance  was only a toonie and was well received by parents and their children.

Rotary supports the Bantam B Tournament

Rotary hockey donate

The Provincial Bantam B Tournament will be held March 17 to 20 at Drumheller’s Memorial Arena and also at the arena in Hussar.  On Monday ,February 8, the tournament accepted a donation from the Drumheller  Rotary Club. Western Chev Bantam Raptors assistant coach Joe Castonguay said, “On behalf of Drumheller Minor Hockey I would just like to thank the  Rotary Club for their generous donation.  It will go to our provincial play down tournament which is coming Mar 17 - 20.  It is greatly appreciated.”  Castonguay is also on the Minor Hockey Board and is busy fundraising for the tournament.
