Unplug on Family Day

Family Day is a great time to disconnect to connect, and Drumheller has a bounty of events to help families reconnect.
Family Day is this Monday, February 20.  Drumheller is once again participating in Family Day Unplugged. This has a goal of promoting family time together by disconnecting from electronics.  A twist this year is that Drumheller Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), Coronation and District FCSS and FCSS Lamont County are competing to see which community can log the most unplugged hours.
What is even better is there are numerous ways that families can spend quality time together in the valley on Monday.
The Royal Tyrrell Museum is once again offering special programming all weekend, with free admission on Family Day. There are a number of free activities once you are there, including storytime and crafts. There are also free video presentations running throughout the day in the auditorium.
There are plenty of activities in town to keep the family connected. The Drumheller Memorial Arena has free skating from noon to 3 p.m. The Drumheller Aquaplex is also offering a Toonie swim from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Badlands Community facility will also be a hive of free activities. The fieldhouse will have inflatables, crafts and board games to keep everyone busy.
To participate in Family Day unplugged and to log your plugged hours, simply fill out a short survey here, or at the Badlands Community Facility. By filling out the survey, you are eligible to win some great swag and prizes including a $300 gift card. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, February 22.
