Three Hills man faces sexual assault charges

A  Three Hills man faces a number of charges after a group of sexual assaults early Monday morning at the Three Hills Prairie Bible Institute.

RCMP have charged thirty-three-year old Renie GALL with one count of break and enter, six counts of sexual assault, and one count of theft under $5000. He is also facing a break and enter charge on a separate incident.

Gall is being held in custody and will appear in Drumheller Provincial Court on Friday, August 22, at 10 a.m.

A man fitting the description of the suspect in the Prairie Bible Institute sexual assaults turned himself in to RCMP Monday afternoon around 1:00 p.m. after police released a photo from video surveillance of the alleged suspect. Three Hills RCMP asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual.
In the early morning hours of Monday, August 17, 2014 a male suspect broke into the student dormitories at the Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills. It is alleged that while inside, the suspect sexually assaulted several students in their dorm rooms before leaving the building and riding away on a bicycle. The investigation indicates that none of the victims were physically injured during the incident.
RCMP would like to thank the public for their support and assistance during this matter.

Humane society given generous donation

(l-r) Heather Franciotti, a volunteer, and Joelle Mclellan, organizer of the Hell on Wheels versus Heartland baseball game, show off almost $1000 worth of donated items for the Drumheller and District Humane Society.

Drumheller and District Humane Society was given a donation from two Calgary television series.
The cast and crew of Hell on Wheels and Heartland came together in a charity baseball game on August 9 at Renfrew Ball Diamond in Calgary.
At the end of all the day’s competition, the winning team got to donate to a choice charity, which ended up being Drumheller and District’s Humane Society.
Joelle Mclellan has worked for Heartland for two seasons and Hell on Wheels for four seasons and organized the ball game between two television shows.
“The event was done to bring fellow cast and crew members together outside of the film set for a fun filled day,” explains Mclellan. “This year we focused on a pet charity.”
Mclellan was born and raised in Drumheller. Living in Nacmine now, she thought it was only right to give back to the community.
Altogether, the event raised almost $1000 in gifts for Drumheller and District’s Humane Society’s animals.
