Drumheller RCMP have made two arrests and two more are in custody in Airdrie related to a number of rural thefts stretching from Sylvan Lake to Strathmore.
During the last couple of weeks Drumheller and area has been subject to a rash of thefts. Subsequent investigations have led to the arrest of two persons in Airdrie who are responsible for many thefts and break and enters in and around Drumheller and Strathmore. Airdrie RCMP is still questioning these two persons.
At present they are believed to be responsible for the theft of a truck, theft of a quad, as well as other break and enters and thefts from Drumheller alone. A list of charges cannot be released at this time, as the informations have not been sworn. Neither of these subjects are from Drumheller.
On Wednesday September 3, two persons were arrested in Drumheller while in possession of a stolen truck. Subsequent investigation has linked these two persons to recent crimes in Sylvan Lake, Red Deer, Olds, Airdrie, and possibly others not yet identified.
These two persons presently stand charged with 17 offences.
Although police have not linked them to any of our initial crimes, we have them charged with several incidents of possession of stolen property, two stolen vehicles, merchant credit card / debit card reader, credit cards, cell phones, tablets, as well as other items have been recovered.
Khoda Allyn Sullivan, 29, of Kentville N.S. and a 17-year-old female from B.C., were remanded and transported to Calgary.
Both of these groups were traveling in stolen vehicles committing crimes as they went. Should suspicious vehicles be noted, please report them to the RCMP.
