RCMP warn of counterfeit money

RCMP-CREST-COLOUR

Drumheller RCMP are reminding the public to be more aware of what their money is made of, especially with the approach of tourist season. Corporal Kevin Charles said that during the past four weeks, Drumheller RCMP have responded to two separate local businesses in which possible counterfeit money was passed to the merchant.  He notes the bills were different denominations,  and one of the merchants accepted the fake money.  He said currently local RCMP have no suspects.

The Corporal directs the public to visit www.bankofcanada.ca for tips on prevention and identification of counterfeit money.  Anyone who believes they are the victim of counterfeit currency are asked to call the Drumehleller RCMP Detachment for assistance at 403-823-2630.
