A strong contingent of Drumheller Firefighters was in Sherwood Park over the weekend and performed well at FireFit.
Darby Page, Merv Smith, Mitchell Smith, Stephen Hatt, Duane Bolin and Laura Hegberg competed in the toughest two minutes in sports. The performed well and had some great results including a gold medal for Merv Smith and Duane Bolin in the X3 competition.
RCMP are now clear of the scene on 6th Avenue East, where the search for a subject came up empty.
Drumheller RCMP responded to a complaint related to weapons early Saturday evening, June 13, and surrounded a home on 6th Avenue between 6th Street and Sunshine Lodge. Approximately seven RCMP vehicles had blocked the road on both sides of a residence of interest. Support from Three Hills RCMP was also on scene.
Eventually, a canine unit was brought in to conduct a search on the residence shortly after 7 p.m., but it did not locate anyone in the home. The subject of the search remains at large.
Police continue to investigate.
