Remaining animals removed from Reptile World

The remaining animals at Reptile World have been removed and are destined for new homes in Ontario.
On Thursday, February 12, Alberta Fish and Wildlife officers and Alberta SPCA officers were at Reptile World.  A rented van was being loaded with containers that appeared to be holding some of the remaining animals at the former zoo in downtown Drumheller.
Dave Bethel, owner of Reptile World tells The Mail, the remaining animals volunarilty turned over and loaded Thursday. The crocodilians are to be taken Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo to Hamilton, Ontario. The rest of the animals are destined for Indian River Reptile Zoo in Peterborough County in Ontario.
Bethel said the animals would be transported in heated vans to their new homes. It is a 40-hour trip, and he says this is the safest means of transportation at this time of year.
