Kinsmen, Western Chev reward generosity with generosity

Thanks to the generosity of the local Kinsmen Club and Western Chev, Ariana Mancini now knows her vehicle will be safe next time she heads home.

Readers of the May 11 edition of The Drumheller Mail are aware of Mancini’s effort to support firefighters in Fort McMurray. The former Drumheller resident currently works as a teacher in Fort McMurray but is a displaced resident because of the fires. She worked hard to support the firefighters, including her husband, who are battling the blaze. The community of Drumheller rallied to support her efforts, donating much-needed items to support the firefighters.

The constant travel in this regard obviously strains a vehicle and she wanted to ensure hers was in good repair for these treks.

“The past 72 hours had been rough on it, and I wanted to ensure that it was safe to drive. Sure enough, the mechanics took a look and made a list of things that needed to be fixed. Everything from the clutch to the struts, needed to be fixed and replaced. These repairs were going to cost me $3,275.50,” she explains.

Members of the Kinsmen took it upon themselves to see how they could help out and was able to come up with $2,175 to repair her car.

That was not all. The entire staff at Western GM decided to forgo their annual summer party and put together $1,100 for the bill.

“Yesterday I picked up my newly repaired vehicle and my invoice total was $0.00, I was left speechless,” she said. “The heart of this community lies within its people and the people of Drumheller have huge hearts.”
