Rumsey Rowley 4-H Beef Club Report

Blake Stoneman
Club Reporter

Hello everyone! Blake Stoneman here again with more news from the Rumsey-Rowley 4-H Beef Club. We have been busy lately.
We last left off just before Christmas. At our December meeting we had a food drive that was donated to the Salvation Army. We also had a toy drive for the Ronald McDonald House. Vanessa Richmond did the shopping for that and she bought some great stuff! We also had a Christmas party at Mappins farm. We had a fire and went sliding. We got to go for rides on their snowmobile. It was so much fun! Thank you Mappins for hosting the party.
We then had another weigh day on February 7 at the Holowaths. The calves are growing really well! We also did a judging workshop. We judged 4 heifers and it was really hard because they were all really good. Thanks to Garret and Kent Holowath for helping us with our judging. Thank you Holowaths for hosting weigh day.
February 23 was our club public speaking night. The winners were: First place junior was Ryley Mappin, second place was Brady Mappin and third was Cadynce Richmond. First place for Intermediate was Noel Kiemele, second place was Amanda Holowath and third was Zoe Avramenko. First place for seniors was Brett Holowath and second was Vanessa Richmond. First for Junior Presentations was Blake Stoneman and first for Intermediate Presentations was Corbyn Stoneman.
Finally, on March 5 we went to Carbon for District Public Speaking. Our club did really well. Ryley Mappin placed second for the juniors. Amanda Holowath also placed second and Noel Kiemele placed third for Intermediate. Brett Holowath placed Third for the Seniors and Blake Stoneman was 2nd for Junior Presentations. Good job everyone and thanks to Hesketh Orkney for hosting!
Now on to Regionals which will be held at Circle Square Ranch in Halkirk on March 19. Presentations will be held in Delia on March 20. Good luck everyone!
    That’s all for now!
