Drumheller Town Council has scheduled two special meetings before year end to pass its Utility Rate Bylaw.
Annually Council reviews it water and wastewater rates and sets them for the coming year, based on cost recovery for the utility. This is mandated by the province.
To ensure the town does not have to bill retroactively in the new year, the town is planning to pass the bylaw before year end.
First reading of the Utility Rate Bylaw is Wednesday, December 16. Second and third readings are slated for Monday, December 21.
