Drumheller Grand Champion fetchs top dollar

    The annual Drumheller and District 4-H Show and Sale took place Monday night and the bids were high.
    This year the Grand Champion was an Angus, weighing in at 1,476 pounds raised by McKenzie Paget. It was sold to Triton Land Services for $5.50/pound.  The Reserve Grand Champion, raised by Brett Holowath was sold to Drumheller Chrysler for $4.50/pound.
    Paget also won Sr. Grooming, Sr. Showmanship and Rate of Gain.  
    The intermediate grooming and showmanship was won by Cole Morlock who raised a 1407 lbs Simmental. It was purchased by Hanna Motor Products for $3.40/lb.
    The Hesketh-Orkney club took the junior category. Jr. Grooming winner was raised by Jace Paget and weighed in at 1,345. It was purchased by Allied Distributors for $3.50/lb, with Jr. showmanship being raised by Braden Best, weighing in at 1,134 lbs. It was  purchased by UFA Page Fuels, Three Hills and Trochu for $3.50/lbs.
    The overall average of the sale was $3.52 per pound.
    The female Grand Champion was McKenzie Paget with her 2 year old cow/calf pair. The reserve Grand Champion was Amanda Holowath with her heifer.
