Town trying to fill the retail space at BCF

BCF-Release

Booster Juice, the juice company that began in Sherwood Park, Alberta 16 years ago has been offered an opportunity by Drumheller Town Council to set up shop at the Badlands Community Facility.
Mayor Terry Yemen said Council approved Booster Juice’s proposal at a regular Council meeting following an in-camera discussion Tuesday.
The regular Council meeting of Monday was rescheduled to Tuesday, April 7, due to the Easter holiday.
“There’s still a lot of t’s to cross and i’s to dot,” said the Mayor. He said he is uncertain whether a Booster Juice franchise store will decide to move forward with signing an agreement  to occupy the space formerly used by Oja’s.
Mark Johnson, Booster Juice’s Manager of Real Estate Development, said he was in town with company CEO/President Dale Wishewan a few weeks ago to tour the BCF, and they loved the town.
“We’d love to come to Drumheller and have a Booster Juice there at the Facility,” Johnson said.
“There’s still a lot of work to be done.”
The BCF’s Marina Flater said Oja’s closed down its BCF store in spring of 2014.
Yemen said Booster Juice was one of two interested parties that responded to the Town’s official Request For Proposal (RFP), and one of fifty-five interested parties the Mayor notes, that accessed the application package electronically from the Town’s website.
The Mayor said Council selected Booster Juice as they believed it to have the stronger proposal of the two, as well as feeling the company would be a good fit for the BCF.
Booster Juice began its business back in the 1990s by offering healthy fruit and vegetable smoothies and fresh-squeezed juices to its customers.
Booster Juice has three-hundred locations worldwide, with an estimate on their website of having sold over 125 million smoothies.
