Dragons win against Mustangs at home in shootout

The Drumheller Dragons hosted the Calgary Mustangs Friday night and pushed the game into a shootout, resulting in a 3-2 win for the Dragons.
The Mustangs opened scoring in the first with one goal, but the Dragons came out into the second period hot when Tristan Thompson scored first to get the Dragons on the board and less than a minute later Dakota Zaharichuk gave the home team a 2-1 lead going into the third. The Mustangs tied the game at 4:28 of the third period and that is the way the game stayed through an overtime period forcing a shootout for fans to watch.
Each team had four shooters, but it was Zaharichuk who scored the game winning goal for the Dragons.
The Dragons will now face the Lloydminster Bobcats Sunday afternoon at Memorial Arena. Puck drop is 2 p.m.
