Ed Butt beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away suddenly on February 27, 2024 in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico at the age of 69 years.
Ed Butt was born on February 13, 1955, in Drumheller, Alberta to Angela & Charles Butt. Ed attended St. Anthony’s Catholic school from kindergarten to grade nine and graduating from Drumheller Composite High School in 1973. He worked as a power lineman with Alberta Power (Atco Electric) from 1974 to 2009, 36 years, transferring from Drumheller, Stettler, eventually retiring at age 55 from Fort McMurray. Ed enjoyed his early retirement, snow birding in Mazatlán, Mexico in his R.V. He loved the beach, his Canam spider, dancing and spending time with his family and friends. “Rest Easy Eddie”
Ed was predeceased by his mother Angela (Butt) Gieck July 14, 2014, his father Charles Edward Butt May 3, 1997.
Ed leaves to cherish his memory one daughter Jenna Butt, one son Michael Butt, two grandchildren Malachi and Cali, one sister Cathy and Bob Chambers, one brother Tony Butt, one aunt Anna-May Cardamone, special friend Sherry Keichinger, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a lifetime of friends.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11:00 A.M at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Lukas Drapal as celebrant, Ed will be laid to rest at a later date. The family invites everyone to join them for lunch and wake at the Midland Community Hall following the Mass.

We regret to announce the death of Lorna Elizabeth Goudy on March 10, 2024, at St. Mary’s nursing home in Trochu, AB, at the age of 84 years. Lorna was born at Armena, AB, on June 24, 1939, as the third of four children to Alexander and Clara Hamilton, and attended Victoria Cross High in Edmonton before working as a secretary for the Alberta Legislature. Having married John W. Goudy in 1962, she moved in 1971 with her husband and children to Drumheller, where her husband, John (predeceased, 1936-2023) was in the process of relocating Inland Plastics (a manufacturer and distributor of textiles). Besides being a wonderful mother & grandmother who loved getting her entire family together in the summer and at Christmas, Lorna will be remembered as an organist at her local church and as a founding member and leader of the local Christian Women’s (“After 5”) Club in Drumheller (in which she participated for several decades).
Lorna is predeceased by her parents, two of her three siblings, and recently by her husband, and is survived by her four children (Wes, Shaunah, Dawn and John), her 15 grandchildren (Myles, Kailynn, Alex, Kristin, Matthew, Karl, Rachel, Josiah, Carlin, Jacob, Mitchel, Rebekah, John Alec, Meaghan, Debrah), and her seven great-grandchildren (Clara, Elizabeth, Brielle, Rebekah, Renley, James, Benjamin).
A memorial service is being held at the Drumheller Nazarene Church at 10:30 a.m. on April 20, 2024.

Patricia Embree, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the age of 68 years.
Patricia is survived by her daughter Jessica Potter, and son-in-law Mat Potter, of Carstairs, AB. She was a proud grandma to Denton and Cheyenne Potter. She is also survived by her son Jason, and daughter-in-law, Nicole Dickson, residing in Calgary, AB.
