HODGE
Nancy Louise

November 4, 1938 - June 19, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Nancy.
Nancy was born in Stettler, Alberta on November 4, 1938, to Jim & Irene Slifka. She was the oldest of three children. She had one sister Marj (Jim) Deering of Trochu, and one brother Johnny who predeceased Nancy in 1975. Nancy went to Botha School from grades one through twelve.
Mom met Lawrence Hodge in 1956 and they got married in June of 1959. They moved onto the family farm and started their life together. They raised five children on the farm, David (Shelley), Lloyd (Mary), Roger, Barbara (Blaine) Mepham, and Donna (Ron) Nelson. As the family grew she had 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, she was very proud of all of them as she watched them grow.
Mom and Dad retired off the farm in 1990 and moved to Morrin where Mom resided up to the day she passed. They enjoyed many winters in Phoenix after New Years until the passing of Lawrence in April of 2002.
Mom enjoyed many things, from raising Corgi dogs, to her flowers, watching the Dragons and Oilers play hockey, the Blue Jays’ ball games, and evenings playing Bingo and card games.
Mom loved it when the family all got together for meals and she would have her house decorated for every season. Nancy took pride having her yard decorated for all the neighbours to enjoy. She will be forever loved and missed by all.
Funeral services for Nancy will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Morrin Community Hall, Morrin, Alberta. Interment to follow at the Morrin Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.

Wesley Walter

October 21, 1963 - December 17, 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Wesley Walter Wade of Drumheller, AB on December 17th, 2022 at 59 years of age.
Wesley was born on October 21st, 1963. He was the sixth child and only son born to Harry and Doris Wade of Drumheller, AB.
Growing up on the family farm with his parents and seven sisters was overwhelming at times for an only boy. Wes enjoyed grooming, feeding, breaking & training the animals we raised for food or show, as well as the pets we loved & nurtured. He was a happy, blue eyed, curly blonde haired boy with a deep dimpled chin & mischievous grin. A busy little guy, but such a joy to watch over... he’d follow us everywhere he possibly could.
In his 20’s, Wesley enrolled in the military. Unfortunately, he severely injured his knee & his back so his time was cut short. These injuries plagued him painfully for the whole & remainder of his life.
Wes’s good friends were few, but he was loyal to the ones he chose or who chose him. He was a very proud man & had much love for his little Maltese dog he named “Cuddles”. She was his faithful companion ‘til his last day.
Wesley is survived by his loving Mother, Doris A. Wade of Drumheller, AB.
Sister - Bernice Cheater (Darcy) of Brooks, AB.
Sister - Valerie Goetz (Howard) of Edmonton, AB.
Sister - Jean Goetz of Blackfalds, AB.
Sister - Jackie Watson (Clint) of Drumheller, AB.
Sister - Gwen Gray (Steven) of Drumheller, AB.
Sister - Tami Bowers (Brian) of Strathmore, AB.
Wes is also survived by his eldest nephew Samuel van Kampen; niece Erin Pan (Dave Haley); nephew Chris Goetz; niece Nicole Watson (Alex McLean); nephew Jack Bowers and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews as well as several cousins.
Predeceased by his father Harry Wade on February 6, 2012; Baby niece - Teala Wade in February of 1988; his eldest sister - Theresa Yearous (Duane) of B.C. in October of 2002; and most recently his beautiful niece - Ashley Watson in January of 2021. Wesley will be dearly missed.
Funeral memorial for the late Wesley Walter Wade will be held on June 26th, 2023 at the Verdant Valley Community Hall at 12:30 p.m. A private family interment will be held at the Drumheller Cemetery.
