It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of an extraordinary young man, Jonathan, who left this world far too soon. ‘On September 14, 1973 - July 18, 2023, he touched the lives of many with his infectious smile, kind heart, and indomitable spirit.’
Born and raised with love and care, Jonathan was a beacon of light from the very beginning. His warmth and compassion knew no bounds, and he had an innate ability to make everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. Throughout his life, he effortlessly formed deep connections with people from all walks of life, leaving an indelible impression on those fortunate enough to have known him.
A true epitome of perseverance, Jonathan faced challenges with courage and unwavering determination. He never allowed setbacks to define him but instead used them as stepping stones toward personal growth and self-discovery. Despite the hurdles, his passion for life remained undiminished, inspiring everyone around him to embrace their own journey with equal zest.
Jonathan had an insatiable thirst for understanding, knowledge and learning. His curiosity was matched only by his desire to make a positive impact on the world. He pursued his life with unwavering dedication and pursued various interests, whether it be in music, dancing, singing, bowling, camping, riding a bike or whatever his heart desired. His enthusiasm was infectious, and he motivated those around him to pursue their passions with equal fervor.
A deeply caring and selfless individual, Jonathan consistently went out of his way to help others. He embodied the essence of compassion. His empathy and generosity left an everlasting legacy, touching countless lives and reminding us all of the profound impact one person can have on the world.
Jonathan’s absence will leave a void in the hearts of his family and friends that can never be filled. He is survived by his mother Dellas, brothers Calvin (Terri, Austin, Chase), Kendall (Melissa, Kyla, Amanda, Brooke), Dwayne (Sharolynne, Courtney, Taylor) and sister Audrey (Ashley) and many aunts, uncles and cousins who will forever cherish the precious memories they shared with him. Now in eternal peace, Jonathan was predeceased by his beloved father (William, 2011), grandparents and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Special thanks to Trish, Nikki (daddy), Justin (shorty), Alex, Nidheesh (Charlie), Jiyash (relish), Joel and their families for being Jonathan’s extended loving family who gave his life that extra special meaning through continuous love, care and support. Also, Thank you to OACL for providing Jonathan’s care for so many years.
In honoring Jonathan’’s memory, let us strive to carry forward his legacy of love, compassion, and resilience. Let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and the invaluable life lessons he imparted. As we grieve his departure, let us also celebrate the gift of having known such a special soul, grateful for the time we were blessed to spend with him.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Jonathan will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 1pm in the Delia Community Hall. Family, friends, and all those touched by his extraordinary presence are invited to join in commemorating a life lived with passion and purpose.

Marsha Marie Schell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on July 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 13, 1952, in Carbon, Alberta, Canada, Marsha’s life was one of grace, compassion, and achievement.
Marsha, the middle child of Sybil and Leonard Poxon, grew up with the love and support of her family. She excelled at sports and academics and enjoyed working as the town’s pool lifeguard each summer. Her older brother, Larry Poxon, her younger sister, Marilou Best, her parents, and the encouragement of her small town community played pivotal roles in shaping her character and nurturing her generous spirit.
In the fall of 1970, Marsha married her beloved husband, Kenneth Schell. Her deepest joy came from their 53-year marriage and the birth of their two children, Angela Marie (1973) and Kenneth David (1974). Together, Ken and Marsha raised their children, instilling in them the same values of kindness, love, and dedication that defined Marsha’s character.
In 1975, Marsha embarked on a journey with Ken that took them first to Alaska and then to Montana, where they settled in 1976. With an entrepreneurial spirit, Marsha became a respected realtor, showcasing professionalism and dedication throughout her career. Her unwavering commitment to excellence earned her admiration and trust from clients and colleagues, some of whom became her closest friends.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Marsha possessed a zest for life that was truly inspiring. She had an undeniable passion for golf, finding satisfaction, challenge, and countless memories with friends on the green. Her evenings were often filled with the strategic complexities of bridge, where she honed her skills and became a Gold Life Master, delighting in the companionship and competition it provided. She cherished the friendships she formed through her love of bridge.
Marsha also had an altruistic spirit and dedicated her time to organizations close to her heart, including the March of Dimes and Relay for Life. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds, touching the lives of many.
Marsha’s grandchildren, Cole, Kendrick, Kai, Morgan, Tanner, and Kieran, were the light of her life. She adored spending time with them, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever. Her love and guidance will continue to shape their lives.
Guided by her values, Marsha believed in the importance of Sunday dinners, where family and friends would gather to share love and good food. She understood the power of taking care of others and treated everyone with the utmost respect and kindness. Marsha’s favorite saying, “Treat others as you would want others to treat you,” encapsulated her approach to life.
Marsha will forever be remembered for her beautiful spirit, her light, and the genuine connections she forged with those around her. As we mourn her loss, let us celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind and carry her memory in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for the disease that affected her later years.
Marsha Marie Schell touched our lives with her warmth, grace, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and eternally cherished. A celebration of life will be held at the Carbon Community Center to honor her memory on Saturday, August 19th, 2023 at 11am.

Shirley Gay Mundorf, age 88, of Drumheller passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at the Drumheller Health Centre.
Shirley was born July 3, 1935, in Trochu, AB. She was predeceased by her parents Sam (2002) and Alberta (1996) Priestley, older brother Ralph (1992) and younger brother Eldon (2018).
Shirley leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband of 68 years, Roy, daughters Bonita (Dave), Rosalie (Bevan), Elaine and son Mark (Kathleen), 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and numerous friends.
Upon completing high school, Shirley moved to Calgary where she attended Henderson Business College. During her life she worked in a variety of clerical, bookkeeping and accounting positions.
Her passion for exploring the world led her and Roy on many trips and cruises. A special trip in 2010 was taken with her brother Eldon and his wife Fern to South America including a cruise to Antarctica to visit the penguins.
Shirley was happy tending her flowers and enjoying nature. She loved family gatherings and the special time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her gentle kindness will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests her memory be honoured by contributions to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice.
Funeral services will be held at the Munson Community Hall on Monday, July 31 at 2 o’clock. Interment will follow at the Munson Cemetery.
