It is with great sadness that the family of Garry George Jones announce his passing at his home in Airdrie, AB on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at the age of 80 years.
Garry was born in Calgary on June 4, 1939 to George and Phyllis Jones. He was raised on the family farm east of Crossfield. Garry had a passion for agriculture and his farming career began with his father in 1958. On
November 20, 1959 Garry married the love of his life,
Brenda. They farmed together until moving to Crossfield in 1988. Over the course of the years to follow, they lived in Vancouver, Drumheller, wintered in Arizona and this past June moved to Airdrie.
Garry is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Brenda; his children Mark (Diana), Leanne (Jens), and
Todd (Tracey); his grandchildren Cori (Kyle), Mallory (Ryan), Heather (James), Travis, Kurt (Melissa), Jeff,
Jennifer (Parker), Megan, Ben, Sam, and Trisha; and great granddaughter Emília. Garry was predeceased by his
parents, George and Phyllis Jones.
A Celebration of Garry’s Life will be held at the Crossfield Community Hall (900 Mountain Avenue, Crossfield, AB) on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Reception to follow. It is with great sadness that the family of Anne Emma Milne announce her peaceful passing at Cedar’s Villa Extendicare in Calgary on October 16, 2019 at the age of 98 years. Anne was born Anna Mary Emma Calon, the second of twins, on August 15, 1921 at Verdant Valley near Michichi, Alberta. She married Donald Edward Milne at St. Mary’s Rectory in Calgary on December 28, 1950. Anne is survived by her two sons, Ken Milne (Denise Graven) and Glenn Milne (Nora); her grandchildren, Robin Graven-Milne, David Graven-Milne, Conor O’Keefe (Chrissy); and her great grandchildren May and Nora, with another on the way. Anne was predeceased, far too soon in 1970, by her husband Don. She is also predeceased by her parents Edward and Celestine (nee’ Cramer); as well as her eight siblings, George, Maryanne, Joseph, twin sister Celestine, Edward, Charles, Frank and Paul. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church (2223 34 Street SW) on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow in Holy Name’s Parish Hall. Lori Lyn Schwan passed away peacefully on October 18 2019 at the age of 55 after a whirlwind battle with cancer.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Candice (Wyatt) and Brian (Sarah), her brother Brent (Tarah), her extended friends and family, as well as her beloved pets Ryder and Squeak.
The family welcomes friends and family to attend a celebration of life held at the Cretaceous Conference Center in Drumheller on Saturday, October 26 from 2 - 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Drumheller Humane Society.
