ROSGEN
Lenore

May 31, 1923 - January 4, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our lovely mother, Lenore Rosgen, on January 4, 2020.
She grew up in Drumheller with her family and had many fond memories of the time spent on her grandmother’s farm in Delia. It was while teaching school in Munson that she met and married her husband, Richard, in 1946. Together they farmed in the Munson area and over the years welcomed nine beautiful children. Lenore had a devout faith in God and was a long-time member of the CWL and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church community. Lenore and Richard, as a couple, volunteered in a refugee camp in Thailand in 1983. They sponsored many refugees who resettled in Canada, and became part of our large family.
Mom loved life! She was curious, loved adventure, and found joy all around her. Mom was youthful and fun to be around; her “sparkle” always delighted the grandchildren.
Lenore is survived by her children: Norma Jeanne, Susan (Marcel), Don (Janice), Julie (Bruce), Nancy, Annette, Margaret, Ken (Maddy), and Paul. Her grandchildren: Heather, Stephanie, Joseph, John, Vicki, Eric, Katherine, Richard, Katyana, Matthew, Vienna, and Stefan; her great grandchildren: Lily, Noah, Finley, Emmarie, Cypress, Beau, Austin, Genevieve, Theodore, Harrison, Hannah, Gabriel, Gabrielle, Emily, and Zakk.
Lenore was predeceased by her husband Richard in 2003, her parents Nancy (nee Martin) and Lindsey Howard, her brother John Howard (2012), sister Jean Howard (1939), grandsons Marcus Young and Ben Olivier. Mom will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Prayer Vigil will be held Friday, January 10, 2020, at 7:00 pm and the Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 11, 2020, at 11:00 am, both taking place at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church. The family invites everyone to join them for lunch immediately following the mass at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Hall, next door to the church.
If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made
to ‘Children of the Light’ (Haiti) cotl.ca, Suite 401, 160 Fallingbrook Road, Toronto, ON, M1N 0A1, Phone no. 416-992-9928 or C.W.L. #34 Drumheller.
Courtney-Winters Funeral Homes are in care of all arrangements.
