With the heaviest of hearts, the family of Robert Lefley announces his passing on November 30, 2022, he was 87. His beloved wife Adeline Charlotte Lefley predeceased him on May 10, 2012, at the age of 72. They were married for 51 years. Robert moved from the farm to Drumheller in 1940. He completed school in 1951. He then enrolled in the air force which he served until 1956. He worked the oil rigs from 1956-1960. Robert began employment as a prison guard at the Drumheller penitentiary in 1961 and worked there until 1970. He then moved his family to Calgary from Drumheller and worked for Canadian National Railways until he retired as a Yardmaster in 1995. Robert loved to garden and watch sports, especially when his grandchildren played hockey, volleyball and basketball. He is survived by his children, Laurie McIntosh (Gary), Tracie Nettle (Alex), Leanne Scott (Gerry). His grandchildren Jennifer, Nathan (Trish), Nina, Bria, Jordan, Quintin, McKenna and Olivia. Great-grandchildren Brylee, Alexza, Landon, Logan and Haylah, four sisters and many nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by his parents, Cyrus and Mary Gaye and brothers Arthur and Tom, his sisters Vi, Beryl and Doris.
He will be greatly missed; may he rest in peace.
A special thank you to the staff at Tudor Manor and Dr. Hoggard for their care of Robert in his twilight years.

Margaret Hugo, beloved wife of Charles “Carl” Hugo, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at the age of 95 years.
Margaret was daughter of Margaret “Peggy” and George Francis “Frank” Buckerfield, sister to Mary, mother to Ian Glen, Catherine, Marylyn and Keith, mother-in-law to Margaret, Harvey, Ralph and Sheila, Nana to eleven and Nana-great to eight.
Margaret grew up on the family farm near Three Hills, AB. She taught school, first in Lumni School, grades 1-9 in one room, when she was just 18 years old, then at Swalwell, AB. While there she married John “Jack” Barnes, moving to his family farm near Carbon, AB, and taught at Carbon School. They raised their children on the farm. Margaret completed a Bachelor of Education while being a mother and teaching school.
Margaret moved to Calgary, AB and continued her teaching career in several schools. She took up square dancing where she re-met Carl Hugo, whom she first met on VE Day having ridden a horse to his farm to use a phone. Margaret and Carl married in 1983, joining Carl’s large, welcoming family. Margaret and Carl continued square dancing with the Queens and Jacks, including in the 1988 Olympic Games opening ceremony. Margaret made dear friends volunteering for the Anglican Church Refugee Committee ESL tutoring and for Habitat for Humanity. Margaret and Carl travelled across Canada, many places in USA and Europe, visiting family, searching family genealogy, and dancing wherever they found a club. Together they joined Confederation Park Seniors Centre, forming close friendships.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church (1121 – 14th Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB) Monday, December 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing Marcus G. Kottkamp of Coleman, AB on November 21, 2022.
Marcus was born in Calgary on July 5, 1970, to Patricia (Carson) Hoover and (late) Edward Kottkamp. He attended school in London, England, St. Louis, Missouri and Delia, Alberta where he graduated in 1988. He moved to Calgary to attend SAIT for welding in the fall of 1988, and then worked hard in various roles including Mountain Air Seismic, a welder, a deck hand
and for many years all over North and South America as MWD Engineer before finding a job closer to home at the Sparwood mine.
Marcus lived all over Alberta but finally moved to Coleman in 2005 after falling in love with the area. With his charismatic and fun-loving personality, he made many friends throughout his life and was always ready for adventure, preferably outdoors.
Marcus lived his life on his terms to the fullest. He had a great passion for dirt biking, the hardest trail was the best trail and was very competitive in EnduroCross on his most prized possession, his KTM. He loved camping, travelling, spur-of-the-moment road trips, paddleboarding, surfing, snowboarding and mountain biking. His love of animals and their love for him can not be understated. Marcus will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Marcus is survived by his mother: Patricia, sisters: Stephanie (Jeff) and Melissa and nieces Sloan and Hadley, his girlfriend Stacey and her children: Ashley (Marc) and Shay (Toni) and her grandchildren: Trinity, Paisley and Mason. Marcus is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Marcus is predeceased by his father Edward, his Grandparents: George and Helen Carson and Gilbert and Mimi Kottkamp and his Aunt Clare Carson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in “Marxico”.
The family is requesting that any donations in Marcus’s honour be made to your local SPCA or animal organization.
