Galarneau, Donald Gordon

Donald Gordon Galarneau passed away quietly in his sleep in Bassano, Alberta on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the age of 88 years.  Don was born to Fred and Gladys Galarneau on the 19 of August in 1921 at Galarneauville, AB. He was predeceased by son, Neil; and brothers Clayton and Max; and is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Gwen; his sister, Wanda Miller of Bassano; son, David of Bassano; 4 daughters, Helen and husband Grant Veno of Homestead Coulee, Ruth of Red Deer, Sylvia of Calgary and Valerie Smith of Vermilion; five grandchildren, Tonya Card and her husband Cory of Barrhead, Brandon and Matt Galarneau of Red Deer and Danielle and Kyla Smith of Vermilion; three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Aedan and Mercedes and numerous nephews and nieces.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 11 at 1:00 pm from Knox Presbyterian Church, Bassano followed by a reception at the Elks Hall, Bassano. Rev. Peter Baek and Rev. Jake Doerksen officiating.  In memory of Don, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Wildlife Federation, 350 Michael Cowpland Drive, Kanata, Ontario K2M 2W1.
