PAULLUS, Gertrude Margaret

paullus-gertrude-margaret.jpgGertrude Margaret Paullus of Drumheller, beloved wife of the late Phillip Alcide Paullus, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2009 at the age of 99 years. Gertrude was born February 17, 1910 in Ethelton, Sask., to Eliza Prudence (Ibister) and John James Fidler. She grew up in Saskatchewan and it is there where she met and married Phillip. They moved to Alberta in the late 50's and settled down in Newcastle where she resided until her death. Her two favourite hobbies were baking and gardening, teaching her children and grandchildren all about them. Family meant the world to her and she always enjoyed family get togethers. She is predeceased by parents John and Eliza Fidler, loving husband Phillip Alcide Paullus, son Gordon Alcide Paullus, grandsons Kirk and Gregg Gardner, sisters Violet Cromartie, Eva Holt, Olive McKay, Elizabeth McHaughlin and Florence Zachow, brothers Ale, Doug, Joe, Arthur, Hilard, James and Alvin Fidler. She is survived by family Velma and Blaze Dillman, Rick and Sheila Paullus, Clint and Marilyn Paullus, grandchildren Gary Paullus, Diane Bretton, Tracy (Carl) and Michelle (Donald) Paullus, Chad and Tenille Paullus, Leanne and Corrine Gardner, eleven great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Courtney-Winters Funeral Home Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service to follow. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers.    49p
