(l-r) Gabe Hamilton and Abby McNaught, grade three students at Greentree Elementary, take part in Thursday's Jump Rope for Heart.

The Greentree Elementary School gym was a hive of extra activity Thursday, as students put a little extra heart into a regular activity to skip rope for a good cause.
Around 80 students from the school’s grade three classes hit the ropes February, the majority of them jumping to help raise money for the Jump Rope for Heart event with the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Teacher and event organizer Penny Messom has been involved with the jump rope fund raiser for five years, and said Greentree School has participated in the event for about fifteen years now.
The students jump rope for an hour total, with a break at the halfway mark for a snack, a juice, and a well earned rest.
More photos of the energetic students can be found in The Drumheller Mail facebook photo album
