With heavy hearts, the family of Thomas John Maxwell announce his passing in the early morning hours of March 1, 2023.
Tom was born in Drumheller, Alberta on December 3, 1945. He, along with his twin sister Marilyn were the youngest of the six Maxwell siblings born to Margaret and Gordon. Tom was a welder for most of his life and loved his job until the day he retired. Tom enjoyed fishing, camping with his family, watching his favourite TV shows, especially Coronation Street, going to the casino and spending time with his dogs.
Tom is predeceased by his twin, Marilyn and his brothers, Gordon (Bunk), Art and Bill.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sharon Maxwell, his brother, Donny Maxwell, his daughters, Tammy (Mike) Hughes, Terry McCallum, Kelly Eckes and five grandchildren, Nicolas and Raven Hughes, Kiara McQinn, Dylan Eckes and Devin Jodoin.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 in Trail BC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be accepted in Tom’s name to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC at www.alzheimer.ca/en/bc or to heartandstroke.ca or to Hospice at interiorhealth.ca.

To Tom, a husband, a dad, a brother, a grandfather, a friend, an uncle we say…

those we love don’t go away,

Mr. Thomas (Tom) G. Montgomery, a longtime resident of the Morrin area, passed away at the Drumheller Health Centre Continuing Care on March 8, 2023 at the age of 71 years.
Tom was born on July 14, 1951, to Vance and Clara Montgomery in Drumheller. Tom was the third of seven children, the oldest boy. Tom grew up on the family farm in Morrin, he took his schooling in Morrin and Drumheller. In 1971 he married Peggy Olsen, they lived on the Montgomery farm for a couple years until they purchased a farm in 1973 in the Michichi area. Tom had two sons Kevin and Micheal. He raised cattle, chickens, pigs, horses, and farmed grain. Tom spent many years being a pilot, doing crop dusting for the local farmers. When he wasn’t busy, he loved to go camping, fishing, and hunting with his many friends.
Tom was predeceased by his parents Vance and Clara Montgomery, his brother Ron Montgomery, and the mother of his sons Peggy.
Tom leaves to cherish his memory, two sons Kevin, Mike (Monalyn), two grandchildren Ella and Oscar Montgomery, his siblings Carol Callas, Ellen Dalke, Pat Galbraith, Bill Montgomery, Teresa Montgomery and their families.
There will be a Celebration of Tom’s life with food and drinks, on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at the Morrin Community Hall, Morrin, Alberta. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to Ducks Unlimited. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.

Rhona Ann McIver died on February 26th, 2023, surrounded by family and friends at Drumheller continuing care.
At six months, Rhona and her brother Alistair (Scottie), and war bride mother Anne travelled from Scotland to join father Alex McIver in Wayne, Alberta.
Rhona attended Newcastle school and later St. Anthony’s school. She started working at an early age at the Corner Café. At the age of 18 Rhona accompanied her mother to Scotland to visit relatives and with a new friend toured Europe. After working in California and Banff, she settled in Drumheller where she worked at the Drumheller Mail as a press operator. She married Jim Goudy and together they established Sun Valley Farms. They participated in Farmer's Markets all over southern Alberta. Many young people spent their summers working there. She loved the outdoors whether romping in the hills with her dogs, rafting down the river with family and friends, or just being with people. Rhona was a member of the C.W.L. and involved with Grace House from its beginning.
Rhona leaves to mourn her niece Anna (Sean) Murphy, their children Pearce, Keira, her niece Sarah McIver (Brandon Vallet), their baby Benhson, nephew John (Kendra) McIver, sister in-law Maria McIver, stepdaughter Tracey-Lee (Jim) Shannon, Jessie, Melissa.
Rhona was predeceased by her parents Ann & Alex McIver, her brother Alistair, Jim Goudy and stepson Greg Goudy.
Prayer Vigil will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 at 7 P.M. at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11 A.M. at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Lukas Drapal as celebrant, interment to follow in the Drumheller Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Drumheller Area Health Foundation (Palliative Care or Recreation), or the charity of donor’s choice.
