Born May 17, 1920 in Wrockwardine UK passed away peacefully in Drumheller on June 4, 2011. Vera was predeceased by her parents Florence and Fred Elkes, brother Fred, grandson Lyle Gill, husband Ed Dick, and son-in-law Clarence Munro. Vera moved to Canada as an Infant, she was schooled in Drumheller, and attended nursing at the Misercordia Hospital in Edmonton 1939-1942, she nursed in Drumheller until her retirement in 1974. Vera is survived by her sister Edna Anderson of Drumheller, brother Jack (Pat) Elkes of Drumheller, daughters Darlene (Roy) Gill of Wetaskiwin, Janice of Calgary, Sherry Munro of Medicine Hat, Allison (Wayne) Johns of Calgary, Vera (Michael) Emmett of Mulhurst Bay, as well as 9 Grandchildren, and 12 Great Grandchildren. Vera had decided to donate her body for Medical Science. There will be a memorial service at the Chapel in the Hillview Lodge 696 6 Ave, East Drumheller, with refreshments to follow at the Sunshine Lodge, on Monday June 13th at 1PM. In Lieu of flowers donation can be made to the CNIB, or charity of your choice.
