Niels Mortensen of Drumheller, passed away on January 18, 2015 at the age of 90 years. Niels farmed all his life, he loved nature. He also loved to go for drives to view the country side. His continued interest in farming and how his neighbors were doing on their farms. Niels moved to Drumheller where he continued to enjoy life in his first house and later his condo until moving to the Sunshine Lodge. Niels was predeceased by; his parents Hans and Anna Mortensen, sisters: Rosa (Joe) Merkel, Viola (Chris) Peters, brother R. Tom (Helen) Mortensen and nephew Eagon Peters. Niels is survived by; 4 nieces Diane (Dennis) Crawford, Linda (Clifford) Christensen, Sandra (Joe) Sinclair, Corinne Drydale and a nephew Allen Mortensen. We would like to thank the staff at the Sunshine Lodge for all their care and concern. Also a special thanks to Dr. Graham and the wonderful staff at the Drumheller Hospital for all their care. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Thursday, January 22, 2015, at Courtney-Winters Funeral Home, 199-2nd Street West Drumheller, Alberta, with Pastor Dan Hendrickson officiating.
