BOTKIN Ida Mae

BOTKIN, Ida Mae
January 30, 1921 - March 17, 2014

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ida Mae Botkin on March 17, 2014 at the Drumheller Health Centre at the Age of 93 years.  Ida was born January 30, 1921 at Filmore, Saskatchewan to Jacob and Martha Berreth.  In 1944 Ida Married Cecil Botkin.  The couple resided in Brooks, Alberta where they ran a dairy farm from 1955-1973.  In 1973 Cecil and Ida moved to Carbon and operated their own wheat farm.  Cecil and Ida enjoyed travelling, they were members of the Lion’s Club, they made lots of new friends in the area.  In 1992 the couple moved to Drumheller. Cecil and Ida built three new homes in their retirement years.  They joined the Pioneer Trail Senior’s Centre, they loved to play cards, and Ida constructed hundreds of quilts.  In 2011, Cecil and Ida moved into the Sunshine Lodge, where they became part of that community as well.  Ida leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Cecil of 70 years, four daughters, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  A private family funeral service for Ida will be held on Wednesday March 19, 2014.  If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the charity of ones’s choice.  Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
