It is with great sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Dora Ropchan at the age of 107. She was predeceased by her husband Peter (Petro) 1969, son John 1996, daughter Winnie 2002, and grandson Timothy. Born in Romania in 1905, she came to Canada in 1910 with her parents Nick and Anna Hlewka. Dora married Peter August 9, 1923 and settled in the Midlandvale area. She lived in her own house until 1992 then moved into the Sunshine Lodge. Dora moved to Drumheller Continuing Healthcare Centre in Dec. 2009. She is survived by; her daughter Annie Pearson, Richmond B.C., son-in-law-Bill Reinhardt, Calgary, grandchildren: Diana, Dora (Rick), Barry, David, Doug, Janice, John (Allyson), Carolyn (Bob), and Gary. Great Grandchildren: Leah, Stephanie, Richard, Tyler, Jordon, Shawn, Danae, Caleb, Larkanne and Jade.  As well as two great-great grandchildren Brielle and Joshua, and many nieces and nephews around the Edmonton area. Dora had many friends in the Lodge and was wildly known as the crochet lady of Drumheller. She crocheted some beautiful doilies which she gave away. She also loved playing bingo. Special thanks to the staff of the Sunshine Lodge and staff of The Drumheller Continuing Healthcare Centre and especially Dr. Miller who looked after her well-being for many years. Also thanks to Myrtle and Don Wilson who watched over her. She will live in our hearts forever, never to be forgotten.
