FOSTER, James Edmund
May 22, 1935 - July 13, 2011

Jim passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the age of 76 years.  He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Russel (Becky) Foster, Susette (Neil) Needham and Tracy (Jim) Finnerty as well as grandchilren: Christopher, Scott, Megan, Kale, Brittany, Jen, Christine and Amanda; great grandchildren: Lukas, Griffin, Tessa, Julia, Annabelle, Derek and Sienna; one sister Evon Barnes and her family.  Jim was born at Galahad, Alberta and later moved to Carbon where he met and married Myrna (who predeceased him in 2001).  His career as a Locomotive Engineer took them to Jasper, Edmonton, Gimli and Prince George where he took his “Last Run”.  They later moved to Vernon and Langley where they enjoyed family in their final years together.  In 2006 Jim moved to Calgary to be with family.  He enjoyed his model railroading and volunteered with The Ironhorse Park in Airdrie.  His pranks and humor will be sadly missed.  A Celebration of Jim’s Life was held at Prince of Peace Manor Hall, 285030 Luther Rose Boulevard, Calgary (16 Avenue N.E. at Garden Road), on Sunday July 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.  If desired a donation in Jim’s memory may be made directly to The Ironhorse Park, 820 Railway Gate, Airdrie AB, T4B 2B3.
