BUYER, Morley Blake
June 27, 2011

Morley Blake Buyer went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on June 27th, 2011 at the age of 73. Morley leaves to mourn his loving wife Shirley of 51 years, daughter Candace (Randy) and son Cameron (Tracy) as well as his five precious grandchildren whom he dearly loved; Tanner (Chilla), Eric, Tyson and Jenna. Morley is also survived by his brother Daun (Phyllis), sister Nova Olhauser, two sisters-in-law Mildred (Vern) Olhauser and Lillian Moller. All his nieces and nephews were very special to him as were his many good friends. Morley was predeceased by his parents and two brothers-in-laws Ben (Frieda) Schuler and Rudy Moller. As a lifetime member of the Carbon Baptist Church, Morley considered it a privilege to serve for many years as a Moderator Sunday School Superintendent, Teacher, and Youth Group Leader. Singing in the choir brought him much joy as he greatly enjoyed singing in regular Sunday Worship and numerous cantatas. Morley was active in the community serving for more than 20 years on the Carbon Community Centre Board, many of those years as Chairman. He was very proud of the community he was born and raised in and assisted where ever and whenever possible. 4-H was a large part of Morley’s entire life right from participating as a member in his youth, then as a leader, on to volunteering for many years of judging and right up to the last few years when he never missed his watching his grandsons Eric and Tyson participate in their own shows. Morley attended Olds College right after high school. His passion for farming quickly became evident when his purebred ranch was also filled with hogs and turkeys at different times. If there was ever a spare moment he could be heard putting his auctioneer skills to work at the local auction market or pitching a sale as a realtor or Arctic Cat Dealer. Most recently Morley could be found cooking up a storm behind the grill of his restaurant Good n Plenty. Morley enjoyed visiting with each one of his guests, finding out where they were from and sharing some good ol’ stories with them. Morley loved children and many had their first taste of ice cream at his restaurant whether their parents knew it or not. A Memorial Celebration will be held at the Carbon Baptist Church on Saturday, July 2nd, 2011 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Carbon Baptist Church Memorial Fund, the Carbon Community Centre or the charity of your choice. Expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at www.courtneywintersfuneralhome.ca. Courtney-Winters Funeral Home (403-823-2666) honoured to be entrusted with arrangements.
